Neelam, a crèche teacher and our beneficiary, painted the truth of her everyday life, the walls, the lock that shuts every evening, the bond with her fellow inmate, and the silent wait for freedom.
For her, art is not just colours on paper, it is friendship, routine, resilience, and above all, hope.
Neelam’s Words:
“मैडम, देखो… ये मेरी ड्रॉइंग है। ऐसा दिखता है हमारा बैरक। शाम को ताला लग जाता है, सुबह खुलता है… इसी के अंदर हम अपने दिन और रात गुज़ारते हैं।”
Through every sketch, she whispers: “I am here, I am living, and I am still dreaming.”
