The six-year-old Tamanna* was in great separation pain when she was introduced to a childcare institution for the study and further upbringing programme. The attachment with mother and family disturbed the young girl during her initial days of schooling. She constantly desired to enjoy life under the care, love, and protection of the family. The child with her two brothers came under the wings of India Vision Foundation, followed by her stepfather’s trial and imprisonment. Initial days of schooling proved that she was diligent and ambitious. Though performing her best in all school-level activities and competitions, academic matters were at the top of her priority list. The continuous mentorship and motivation from the Foundation team kept her focussed and balanced. In 2018 when she completed her plus two in commerce, she was the topper in her school (92.2%) with a gold medal for the highest score in English. She moved to Delhi University with excellence in performance and became a B.com graduate with CGPA:8.136 (first-class division). Considering the community and family that she belongs to; T’s achievement is remarkable and reiterates the relevance of India Vision Foundation’s support system for underprivileged girls like her. The journey of seventeen years, comprising of regular counselling, support and inspiration from the foundation helped ‘T’ to reach the pinnacle of success along with her family support. Her gratitude towards the foundation is seamless and thus reflects in her words below: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” — Winston S. Churchill There are times in our lives when we think that ‘I can’t do it, and it has occurred to me so many times. But today I can assure myself that if we believe in something, it is possible. Today I want to inform you all that I have completed my graduation with first division from Gargi college, Delhi University. And there are various factors contributing to this achievement. Of course, family is always there to support us but it can be a little bit demanding. But there are people who have just believed in me without any strings attached. India Vision Foundation (IVF) has always been a family that believed, supported, guided me and many times was a friend to me. And I have been a part of this family since I was 6year old. I would like to especially give thanks to Monika ma’am, Pearly ma’am, Chander bhaiya, Snigdha didi, Garima didi, Mannu didi, Ajay bhaiya and all the staff. I am very grateful to God for giving me this opportunity for being a part of this family. I don’t know where would I be today if they had not taken me under their shelter. And I always pray to God that this family grows, and other people like me use this opportunity to make their life’s better. And yes there have been many struggles and hurdles that came in my way, but that is what life is all about. We just have to keep pushing ourselves further towards our goals. And whatever may be the result, we should accept it.” In the words of Tamanna* we can see the gratitude, confidence, and joy of success that she managed to achieve at a very young age by bagging the job in a corporate company with the designated role of Client Success Associate. The determination and willpower, along with the blessings of Almighty, led Tamanna* to overcome all the odds and reach the heights that she desired and not affected by her parental incarceration or her background to become a deterrent in her ambition and dreams The team India Vision Foundation wish all the success to our child Tamanna*. “Sky should be your limit…fly…fly…fly…no looking down. Be humble and spread the values you earned here….be the role model to many like you …be the hope and spirit to the younger ones of India Vision Foundation and keep continuing the good practice “give back to the society”.
