SKBS NEED AND JUSTIFICATION

PROJECT NURTURE or School Ke Baad Ka School (Schooling After School) is a remedial education programme. This programme is designed specifically to facilitate the students studying in Government schools (mainly in primary and middle class). Project Nurture hopes to enable these children, to acquire quality education as per their curriculum in the rural area, Sohna Block, Gurgaon District.

A research conducted by the India Vision Foundation team, revealed, that most of the women in this area were illiterate and/or involved in household chores. Also this project area is characterized by high unemployment and low per capita income. Hence, the parents are in no condition to help their children, in their studies, as they are busy struggling for their own day to day survival. Although, there are a number of Primary and Secondary Government schools, the quality of education in these schools, is not up to the mark. Therefore, through this programme, India Vision Foundation aims at preventing these children from leaving the formal schools, so that they work and contribute to the family's humble income.
